學院沿革 History

本學院前身為人文社會學群，於民國九十一年八月成立人文社會學院。目前全院共有三系二所，包括應用英語系、應用日語系（研究所）、幼兒保育系、人文社會學院教育經營碩士班(前身為教育領導與評鑑研究所)。其中應用日語系及人文社會學院教育經營碩士班設有碩士班。本院目前定位在培育學生一方面具有專業知識，另一方面更強調學生要具有英語或日語的外文能力，同時兼顧培養及陶冶學生人文氣息，在畢業之後成為社會的中堅份子或社會領導人才。

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences was formed in 2001 and is presently comprised of 3 departments, 2 master program: These include the Department of Applied English, the Department of Applied Japanese, the Department of Child Care and Education, the Master Program of Education Administration. Among them, the Department of Applied Japanese has master degree programs. The college aims to develop a greater appreciation of the humanities and social concerns, integrate technology into education, and promote holistic education.In order to improve students’ competitive ability after graduation, the purpose of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is not only to teach students professional knowledge of foreign languages, but also to develop their cross-cultural awareness.

目標 Objectives

培育英日語、中小學教育行政、幼兒保育等職場導向專業，並具備跨域及實務能力之優秀人才。
培育具備日語、東南亞或歐洲語言之第二外語技能，強化學生海外研習與實習，開拓國際視野，提升國際職場競爭力。
陶冶學生人文素養與社會關懷，著重業界實務應用，科技與人文素養並重，促進全人發展並因應數位時代挑戰。

掌握外部大環境機會，持續發揚本學院之優勢條件
- 配合本校高教深耕計畫在國際化層面之拔尖計畫，充分運用本學院外語師資課程與設備，持續建置本校之優質國際化學習環境。
- 整合本學院外語教學類及幼兒保育與教育類兩群師資形塑專業社群，增進研發能量。
- 關注行政院六大新興產業發展方案，尋求突破本學院產業研發能量。
坦誠面對本學院之內部不利條件及大環境之外在威脅，借助大環境之有利契機，積極尋求資源整合與調整未來發展方向
- 進行跨院系所之資源整合以強化本學院之組織效能
- 改變課程與教學，加強與產業界結合，提升產學合作與學生就業機會。
- 尋求變革以利永續經營 - 整合本學院系所與本校其他學院人力，以提升研究、論文發表與產學合作能量。
積極配合本校各項大型計畫，推動各項產學重點工作
- 訂定教師以產學研發成果升等辦法，改變教師升等方式（在技術升等機制下建構）。
- 因應國際化趨勢，強化學生職場專業外語能力。

Leveraging Opportunities to Strengthen Core Advantages
- In alignment with projects of excellence-oriented internationalization, the College will continue to utilize its foreign language faculty, curriculum, and facilities to enhance STUST’s global learning environment. We aim to build professional communities by integrating faculty in language education and early childhood care, while also exploring opportunities in Taiwan’s six emerging industries to expand our research capacity.
Addressing Challenges and Adapting to Change
- To improve organizational effectiveness, the College will integrate resources across departments and colleges.
- We will reform curriculum and teaching to better align with industry needs, enhancing collaboration and student employability.
- Sustainable development will be pursued through strategic restructuring and cross-college cooperation to boost research, publications, and industry engagement.
Supporting University Initiatives and Advancing Industry Collaboration
- We will revise faculty promotion criteria to emphasize industry-academic achievements under a technology-driven framework.
- In response to global trends, we will also strengthen students’ professional foreign language skills to prepare them for international careers.
